Future Fox can provide basic to advanced structural drawings for any client. We primarily use Revit to produce Building Information Models (BIM). The concept of BIM is rapidly catching fire within the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry for various reasons, namely an ability to yield more efficient, data-centric results
The process for developing our structural models using BIM is more efficient than traditional two-dimensional design. Instead of drafting with thousands of individual 2-D lines, we design using 3-D components. This means that a wall will have X,Y and Z data associated with it. This amounts to the seamless creation of elevation/section views which would otherwise have to be manually drafted. As these models are being developed they allow any client to see their project in 3D, which can be appealing for a variety of reasons.
Our structural BIM design process also involves associating real world material properties with the 3-D components. For example, a wall will consist of studs, insulation, vapor barrier and gypsum wallboard. A foundation will have the strength and geothermal properties of 25MPa concrete. The benefits with this type of 'intelligent' modeling include the seamless extraction of material schedules along with an ability to conduct energy analysis simulations and even structural load analysis.
We can easily provide traditional CAD drawings for any client as well. This is possible by simply exporting Revit models to a DWG, 2-D format. All of our Revit models are produced in wireframe which eliminates line conflicts/overlapping; a common headache for those who receive CAD drawings via Revit.
Our Revit BIM models can also be exported to other advanced modeling and rendering software. The use of this program allows for any clients structural or civil project to receive a major visual boost and see their project like never before.
